FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Important Information

  • IS IT SAFE? All of our experiences have been risk assessed and are operated with safety in mind. Yes, you will be required to follow some basic but important rules which will keep you safe, whilst at the same time allowing you to have fun.

  • Can I attend if I have been drinking? Our experiences and alcohol do not mix and as such, you may not be allowed to participate if we believe you are unfit due to the influence of alcohol or drugs. This is at the discretion of our Game Master/Instructor. REMEMBER SAFETY FIRST!! Just ask yourself if you would trust a drunk person with an axe/knife? We expect all our participants to behave in a suitable manner during their time with us we will not tolerate any behaviour that compromises the safety of our participants or staff.

  • What forms will I be required to sign? You will be required to complete a disclaimer for each activity which will include a medical declaration along with the rules and that you agree to abide by themFor persons under the age of 16/18 (Activity dependant), parents/guardians will be required to countersign any applicable documents.

  • How many people can participate? Our Escape Room can accommodate 2-6 participants. Our Axe Throwing can accommodate 2-6, our Knife Throwing 2-4 and our Laser Shooting Simulator 2-6.

  • are there any age restrictions? Our Escape Room has a mature theme and is not suitable for persons under the age of 12. Any persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is participating. Our Axe Throwing and Shooting Simulator activities are only open to persons over the age of 12, our Knife Throwing over the age of 16 and any persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is participating. There is no upper age limit - all welcome!

  • How many people will be in the venue at any one time? Your party will have exclusive use of the venue during your booking along with our staff members.

  • do I need to book in advance? All our experiences are required to be booked with a minimum of 24 hours notice. We may be able to accommodate a shorter notice booking, please contact us to discuss either by our chat function on the website, by emailing brainyaxeuk@gmail.com or by calling us on 07747 528524.

  • can i cancel or amend a booking? All our bookings are non-refundable. However, if you give us 48 hours notice we are happy to try and accommodate your request to reschedule your experience to another suitable time/date.

  • When should I arrive for my experience? We advise that you should turn up 10  minutes prior to your booked time this will allow the completion of the safety briefs and documentation.

  • If i am running late, what should I do? Please call us ASAP to advise. If you arrive within 15 minutes of your booked time, you may able to participate in your experience for the remainder of the booked session. However, if you are more than 15 minutes late for your booked time, your experience may be cancelled and no refund or rescheduling allowed. This is due to other scheduled sessions and cleaning requirements.

  • Will i be locked in? In the UK it is illegal for a business to lock anyone in a room so players would never be trapped, we just give the appearance that you are. If at any time a participant requires to leave the room they can do so.

  • where are you? Brainyaxe is located at 13-15 Hope Street, Inverkeithing. We are approximately half a mile away from Inverkeithing Train Station and are accessible via any of the main bus routes. There are plenty of free car parking spaces nearby.

  • Is brainyaxe accessible? Unfortunately, not all areas are accessible for wheelchair use (including the toilet). We appreciate everyone's situation may be different so please feel free to contact us regarding any access requirements.

  • Are toilets available? Yes, there is a toilet available for use during your visit with us. However, the toilet is not suitable for disabled use. This is due to the age of the building and the toilets limited size. 

​

  • what should i wear? We recommend sensible, comfortable clothing and enclosed footwear. Strictly no open-toed shoes/sandals or high heels.

  • can I book an experience for someone else? Of course you can, our experiences are perfect for birthday surprises, anniversaries and other celebrations. You can book experiences for a specific date/time or you can purchase one of our gift certificates available in our online shop. Remember though if you are booking for someone else we need your details as the booker (in case we need to contact you) otherwise, we may let the cat out of the bag and unknowingly spoil the surprise if you use their contact details on the booking.
